After giving a script-to-series commitment to a small screen adaptation of William Gibson‘s novel “The Peripheral” last year, Amazon has now ordered the project to series.
As reported by The Wrap, the sci-fi series comes from “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. It’s set to be a one-hour series that’ll air on Amazon Prime Video.
The series “centers on Flynne Fisher, a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynne is smart, ambitious, and doomed. She has no future. Until the future comes calling for her.”
Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice, In the Tall Grass) will direct the pilot episode.
Scott B. Smith created the series and will serve as showrunner.
