Starring AnnaSophia Robb (“The Act”), Quibi‘s horror series “Emma” is being directed and co-executive produced by Mary Harron (American Psycho and Charlies Says), and written and executive produced by Ben Ketai (Strangers: Prey at Night), and Deadline reports today that Mira Sorvino (Stuber) and Rory Culkin (Lords of Chaos) have signed on.
Sorvino and Culkin will be featured in supporting roles, while Hannah Murray (Charlie Says) and Michael Gaston (“The Man in the High Castle”) have also joined the cast.
“Emma” follows the dark journey of a young woman (Robb) down on her luck and pregnant under mysterious circumstances. She must deal with the increasingly disturbing effects of her pregnancy, and the potential conspiracy surrounding it.
Dark Castle Entertainment and Propagate are producing the series; executive producers are Alex Mace and Hal Sadoff with Dark Castle and Ben Silverman, Howard Owens, Greg Lipstone and Rodney Ferrell with Propagate. Platinum Dunes is also executive producing the series.
Quibi launches on April 6, 2020 in the US.
