In addition to the upcoming “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep) is also re-teaming with Netflix for the horror series “Midnight Mass,” announced last summer.
The seven-episode series follows an isolated island community experiencing miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.
On Twitter over the weekend, Flanagan revealed that filming on “Midnight Mass” will soon begin here in 2020. Best of all, Flanagan himself will direct *all episodes*!
Interesting to note, the project has ties to both Hush and Gerald’s Game. “Midnight Mass” was the book Maddie Young wrote in Hush, and it later appeared in Gerald’s Game!
The upcoming series, it seems, is based on that fictional book.
Heading back to Vancouver to finish THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, and to start MIDNIGHT MASS. 2020 is already shaping up to be pretty damn busy… can’t wait to show y’all what we’re up to.

Only directing one episode of BLY, we brought in some awesome filmmakers to helm it. But I’m directing all episodes of MIDNIGHT MASS.
