Not long after Fox pulled the plug on “Lucifer,“ Netflix swooped in to save the series at the final hour, and they’ll be presenting the fifth and *final* season of the show this year.
Announced by Entertainment Weekly today, Dennis Haysbert (“24”) has joined the cast for the fifth/final season. He’ll be playing the big man upstairs, none other than God!
“We did like the big crazy list of [possible actors for the part], and he was my top choice,” co-showrunner Joe Henderson told the site. “We were lucky. It was our first and only offer.”
In “Lucifer,” starring Tom Ellis in the title role, Lucifer Morningstar has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels.
