With endless future, comes endless past.
Anthony Mackie is the new series lead for the second season of the sci-fi series “Altered Carbon,” taking over the role of Takeshi Kovacs from season one star Joel Kinnaman.
Netflix will be unleashing season two on February 27, and today brings the official teaser trailer. You can meet Mackie’s Takeshi Kovacs in the first-look down below.
Based on the classic cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan, “Altered Carbon” is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.
“Season Two of the sophisticated and compelling sci-fi drama finds Takeshi Kovacs (Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry).”
Alison Schapker has joined the series as executive producer and will serve as co-showrunner alongside creator/executive producer/former showrunner Laeta Kalogridis.
