Quibi Series “Murder House Flip” Will Renovate Real-Life Crime Scenes from Morbid to Marvelous

Just when you thought the realms of true crime and home makeovers were one trick ponies, the announcement has come that producers of “CSI” and “Penny Dreadful” will be dipping their toes into mobile streaming service Quibi with their new reality series, “Murder House Flip.

Whatever you think this is, yes, it is.

Combining paranormal research and true crime, traditional home makeover tactics like installing hardwood floors or widening the floor plan, and more technical crime scene cleaning to remove blood and other bio hazards, this series will attempt to take spaces tainted by real-life murder and turn them into dream homes – or at least safer spaces mentally, for the owners.

“Homeowners turn to high-end renovation experts, Mikel Welch and Joelle Uzyel, to remove the stains of the past and take these homes from morbid to marvelous.”

In regards to the ideal goal of the unique series, producer Josh Berman told TODAY that each 10 minute mini-sode will hopefully provide, “healing and solace to families living in the aftermath of tragic events by transforming dark places into healthy spaces.”

Admittedly, it is unclear how that can all be shown effectively in such a tight time frame, but it is shaping up to be an extremely interesting new take on two genres that are either completely stagnant, or are in danger of becoming so.

Tune in on April 6 to see the team of “Murder House Flip” uncover the “crimes, shocking secrets and scandalous history” of some of the most gruesome homes in modern America.
