Robert Englund Teases an Upcoming Role on a “Show That’s Terribly Popular”

The last time Robert Englund appeared on television was in the 2018 episode of “The Goldbergs” titled “Mister Knifey-Hands,” wherein the horror icon played Freddy Krueger. He’s back on the small screen this week as the host of Travel Channel’s new series “True Terror With Robert Englund,” and he’s also teasing an upcoming role on a popular TV show.

Chatting with Broke Horror Fan, Englund teased:

“I’ve got something coming up that I’m going to be shooting later this month. I’m not allowed to talk about it, but it also is very challenging, on a show that’s terribly, terribly popular. And I’m looking forward to the fan reaction to that as well.”

These comments, we assume, were made prior to television and film productions being shut down in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, so it’s likely that whatever production Englund is referring to has been shut down for the time being. We do know that genre shows such as “Stranger Things,” “Supernatural” and “Fear the Walking Dead” had been filming this month, for what that’s worth. Could Englund be teasing a trip to Hawkins in the fourth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things”? Perhaps a return to “Supernatural” in the show’s final season?

Maybe even “American Horror Story,” which was set to begin filming its 10th season soon?

We can only speculate for now, but we’ll report more as we learn it.
