Quibi launched this week with a slew of new bite-sized shows, although the best come next Monday, April 13th.
In addition to the Sam Raimi-produced “50 States of Fright”, Quibi hits the road with “The Stranger”, which stars It Follows and The Guest‘s Maika Monroe being stalked and tormented by Chronicle‘s Dane DeHaan.
“The thriller follows an unassuming young rideshare driver (Monroe) who is thrown into her worst nightmare when a mysterious Hollywood Hills passenger (DeHaan) enters her car. Her terrifying ride with the stranger unfolds over 12 hours as she navigates the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles in a chilling game of cat and mouse.”
Written and directed by Veena Sud (The Lie, Seven Seconds, The Killing), the new trailer shifts gears a bit, looking more like a psychological thriller than that of a Hitcher homage. Is Monroe’s character going crazy or is there a psychopath hunting her down? “The Stranger” wants to hear a good story and so do we…
