Joe Russo, the producer of the podcast “Post Mortem With Mick Garris” and the horror anthology film Nightmare Cinema, makes his feature directorial debut with the upcoming thriller The Au Pair Nightmare, an indie movie acquired by Lifetime and airing this month.
The Au Pair Nightmare will premiere on Lifetime May 17th at 8pm EST.
In the film, “Looking to escape her past, Taylor (Brytnee Ratledge) applies to be the Au Pair for a well-to-do, small-town family. Invited into their world, Taylor starts to suspect her very private, new employers, Alessandra (Annie Heise) and John (Tristan Thomas), are hiding something, and her curiosity quickly puts her directly in their crosshairs. Now, she’ll have to discover their darkest secret if she has any hope of making it out of her new home alive.”
Joe Russo and Chris LaMont co-wrote the script together. Russo tells us that the film is more of a thriller, but he tried to work as much psychological horror in there as he could.
