Annie Murphy, who often steals the show as Alexis on “Schitt’s Creek”, has been tapped for an unknown role on the second season of Netflix’s “Russian Doll”, reports Deadline.
They’re remaining tight-lipped on the next season of “Russian Doll”, which is a Groundhog Day-esque nightmare of a series in which Nadia, played by Natasha Lyonne, “repeatedly dies during a New York party that seems never to end.”
“Nadia keeps dying and reliving her 36th birthday party. She’s trapped in a surreal time loop — and staring down the barrel of her own mortality.”
Update 3/12/21 (8:30 am): Natasha Lyonne, who was spotted on set in NYC, is returning to star in the second season, which removes speculation that “Russian Doll” could be an “anthology” series.
Lyonne is also a co-creator and executive producer of the series. It’s unclear if she will return to star, or if the second season will follow an anthology format.
Production recently started.
