The Teasers for Netflix and Mike Flanagan’s New Horror Series “Midnight Mass” Have Begun [Videos]

More small screen horror is on the way from Netflix and Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor”), with Flanagan directing new series “Midnight Mass.”

The marketing campaign for the upcoming series is now underway, with two very short teaser videos being shared to Twitter today (interestingly enough, on the official account for “The Haunting of Bly Manor”). “We’re 30 miles from the mainland with only two ferries a day,” one of the tweets reads. The other, “We used to be a community of hundreds. Now we’re just dozens.”

The seven-episode series follows an isolated island community experiencing miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.

We’re expecting more soon, but for now, check out the two teasers below…

Kate Siegel (“The Haunting of Hill House”) will star alongside Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy) and Hamish Linklater (“Legion”). The cast also includes Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Trucco (Hunter Killer), Samantha Sloyan (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl)Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep)Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods) and Annarah Shephard.

Interesting to note, the project has ties to both Hush and Gerald’s Game. “Midnight Mass” was the book Maddie Young wrote in Hush, and it later appeared in Gerald’s Game.

Last week we learned that Steve Buscemi had joined the cast of “Wednesday” Season 2 at Netflix, and Variety lets us know that Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”) has also signed on.

Jenna Ortega is back as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” with Steve Buscemi playing the new principal of Nevermore Academy.

Jenna Ortega stars in the hit series as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia in Tim Burton’s Netflix series. Christina Ricci also appears in the show, playing a brand new role, with Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…

“Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton executive producing and directing several episodes of the show’s debut season.

We don’t know much about “Wednesday” Season 2 at the moment but Jenna Ortega has promised that the new season will be “bolder” and darker than the first season of the series.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror more,” Ortega said last year.
