A highly unique romantic comedy/werewolf hybrid, Peacock’s “Wolf Like Me” is one of my personal favorite things of 2022 so far, so I’m thrilled to hear Season 2 is on the way!

THR has announced this afternoon that Peacock has ordered up “Wolf Like Me” Season 2, with Isla Fisher and Josh Gad both returning to continue their bizarre romance.

Wolf Like Me stars Gad as a widowed father living in Australia and struggling with grief as he raises his daughter (Ariel Donoghue). Mary (Fisher) has a secret she can’t share with anyone, even as the universe seems to be bringing her and Gary together.”

“We are over the moon that Wolf Like Me’s unique and high-stakes love story resonated so strongly with Peacock viewers,” said Susan Rovner, chairman entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “Josh and Isla’s critically acclaimed performances in this beloved romantic dramedy were exquisite, and we can’t wait to see what [creator] Abe Forsythe and our partners at Made Up Stories and Endeavor Content come up with for season two.”

Creator Abe Forsythe (Little Monsters) said, “I’m thrilled to be able to continue Mary and Gary’s story into the next phase of their relationship, especially considering the stakes couldn’t be higher. Knowing we have an audience invested in their story is a dream come true for us. Our crew is already having a lot of fun building on what we created with season one, I can’t wait for everyone to experience it alongside our characters.”

“If people were surprised by season one, we guarantee they will be amazed at what the universe is going to throw at Mary and Gary this time around,” said executive producers Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea and Steve Hutensky of Made Up Stories. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Abe, Isla and Josh again on this truly unique show.”

The X-Files Reboot Pilot wraps

Himesh Patel (Tenet, Don’t Look Up) will star opposite Danielle Deadwyler (The Woman in the Yard) in Ryan Coogler’s reboot ofThe X-Files, which has wrapped filming on the pilot.

Patel confirmed the news in a chat with The Direct, while reiterating that he and Deadwyler play new characters.

I don’t want to say anything that’s going to get me disappeared. Needless to say, myself and Danielle Deadwyler are playing completely new characters, and we just wrapped on the pilot. If we get to do more… we’ll see where we go from there,Patel said.

That last sentence is noteworthy, as Patel is reminding that Hulu has only ordered the pilot so far. A full series order has yet to be greenlit.

It’s a good reminder, considering that Hulu also ordered a pilot for theBuffy: New Sunnydalereboot that was filmed and delivered earlier this year, only for the streamer to send shockwaves when it opted not to move forward with the series.

As forThe X-Filespilot, Sinners filmmaker Ryan Coogler writes and directs the pilot. Jennifer Yale (The Copenhagen Test) serves as showrunner.

Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler play two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents who form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.

Patel and Deadwyler previously co-starred together onStation Eleven.

Other actors who have signed on for guest roles include Amy Madigan, Steve Buscemi, Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs, Lochlyn Munro, Tantoo Cardinal, Joel D. Montgrand, and Sofia Grace Clifton.

The X-Filesoriginally ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002, with two additional seasons arriving in 2016 and 2018. 218 episodes were produced in total, along with two feature films: 1998’s The X-Files: Fight the Future and 2008’s The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
