This year’s Emmy nominations have been announced, with “What We Do in the Shadows” kicking off the horror representation with an “Outstanding Comedy Series” nomination.
Horror is also represented in the “Outstanding Drama Series” Emmy category this year, with “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game” and “Yellowjackets” all officially in the running.

Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” has also received a nomination in the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” category, with Melanie Lynskey recognized for her incredible work.
For “Yellowjackets,” Christina Ricci has also been nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series,” the second Emmy nomination for Ricci (“Grey’s Anatomy”).
Netflix’s smash hit series “Squid Game,” meanwhile, has also been nominated for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series,” that nomination secured by Lee Jung-jae.
Co-star Jung Ho-yeon has been nominated for South Korean series “Squid Game” as well, in the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” category.
Oh Yeong-su and Park Hae-soo are both nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” for “Squid Game,” which continues to be a huge success for Netflix.
Second seasons of both “Squid Game” and “Yellowjackets” are in the works and on the way, while “Stranger Things” will come to an end with the show’s fifth season in the near future.
The Emmy Awards will air Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC, and you’ll also be able to stream the show both live and On Demand via the Peacock service.
