John Wick Prequel Series “The Continental” Moves from Starz to Peacock

In addition to John Wick: Chapter 4, the John Wick Universe is set to expand with prequel series “The Continental,” which will now debut as a Peacock Original Series.

As Deadline notes, the three-part event series had previously been set up at Starz.

“The unusual move comes more than four years after the project was first unveiled by the premium cable network,” Deadline reports this afternoon.

“The series will explore the origin story and inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel, a centerpiece of the John Wick Universe which serves as a refuge for assassins.”

Deadline details, “Told from the perspective of the hotel manager, a young Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell, who is based on Ian McShane’s character in the films, is dragged through 1975 New York to face a past he thought he’d left behind. In an attempt to seize control of the iconic hotel, which serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals, Winston charts a deadly course through the mysterious underworld of New York City.”

Ayomide Adegun will portray a young Charon, Peter Greene plays Uncle Charlie, Mel Gibson is Cormac, Ben Robson is Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour is Miles, Jessica Allain is Lou, Mishel Prada is KD, and Nhung Kate is Yen. Keanu Reeves is not featured in the spinoff series.

Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as writers and showrunners.

You can expect to find “The Continental” on Peacock sometime in 2023.

“Reginald the Vampire” Season 2 Trailer Unleashes a Blood War Between Angels and Vampires

The Jacob Batalon-starring vampire-comedy series “Reginald the Vampire” returns to SYFY for Season 2 on May 8, and the new season’s official trailer has arrived today.

In the upcoming second season, “Reginald Andres finally got his life together – when he was turned into a vampire. While he doesn’t fit into the stereotypical expectations of what a vampire looks like – he’s not chiseled or classically handsome – Reginald has found his place amongst an unlikely cohort that includes the cool vampire who sired him, the former vampire chieftain turned unexpected ally (or is she?), and his co-worker/former girlfriend.”

Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Em Haine (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Mandela Van Peebles (“Mayor of Kingstown”), and Savannah Basley (“SurrealEstate”) star.

“Reginald the Vampire” is produced by Great Pacific Media Inc., Modern Story Company, December Films and Cineflix Studios and executive produced by Harley Peyton, Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock and Peter Emerson.

“Reginald the Vampire” is based on the book series by Johnny B. Truant. Harley Peyton (“Chucky”) is the executive producer/showrunner of the SYFY television series.
