Syfy’s “The Ark” Launches Ominous First Look at Space Survival Series
Space travel never goes well in sci-fi and horror, and that seems to be the case once more in the eerie first look at Dean Devlin‘s upcoming SYFY series, “The Ark.”
The teaser and first look images, below, hint at a tense bid for survival amidst catastrophe. Dead bodies litter the hall and quick glances at terrified faces indicate the crew on this spacecraft is in for a rough time.
More importantly, it reveals that we can expect this sci-fi nightmare to arrive in February 2023.
The series, “takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.
“The Ark” stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read and Ryan Adams.
Devlin (Independence Day, Stargate) and Jonathan Glassner (“Stargate SG-1”) are co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment. Jonathan English of Balkanic Media and Steve Lee serve as producers.
Glassner previously teamed up with Devlin on the CW fantasy series “The Outpost.” Devlin has also produced genre film Eight Legged Freaks and more recently helmed sci-fi disaster feature Geostorm.
“The Ark” premieres on SYFY in 2023. The official premiere date remains TBA.

‘Ghostbusters: Night Shift’ – Brand New Animated Series Comes to Netflix in 2027!
The Ghostbusters franchise returns to the world of animation with brand new Netflix series “Ghostbusters: Night Shift,” and the official logo has been revealed this weekend.
Expect “Ghostbusters: Night Shift” to clock in on Netflix in 2027!
Netflix previews, “Ghostbusters: Night Shift, a series from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation based on the beloved Ghostbusters franchise, will debut exclusively on Netflix in 2027.
“The new series marks the next chapter in the franchise’s ghoul-catching legacy, bringing supernatural comedy and paranormal action back to animation.”
The upcoming animated series from Netflix will be executive produced by Ben Hibon, Elliott Kalan, Jason Reitman, Gil Kenan, Amie Karp, and Dan Aykroyd.
Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, director of the original Ghostbusters features, and Kenan co-wrote the franchise’s most recent installments, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
“This isn’t the first time the Ghostbusters universe has gone animated,” Netflix reminds in their press release today. “The 1980s and ’90s saw The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters take over the small screen. For now, you can rest assured: If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, a Ghostbuster will be on the job — even if it’s after hours.”
