“Sweet Tooth” Season 3 – Netflix Announces Third and FINAL Season of the Series

Netflix just debuted “Sweet Tooth” Season 2 last week (April 27), and the streaming service has announced today that “Sweet Tooth” Season 3 is officially on the way soon.

“Sweet Tooth” Season 3 will be the show’s FINAL SEASON.

In fact, Season 3 has already been filmed in New Zealand!

The critically acclaimed Season 2 of “Sweet Tooth” premiered on Netflix on April 27 with an impressive 48.3 million hours viewed during its first four days of release.

Creator, showrunner and executive producer Jim Mickle spoke to Netflix about the renewal, stating “In a lot of ways, it’s exactly the story that I imagined we would tell and in a lot of ways it takes on its own life. At the beginning, I think you set out to tell these landmark pieces of Gus’ story and the big pieces of the comic book, but the beauty of long-form storytelling and Gus’ journey over 24 episodes is the characters themselves tell you what they want to be.”

Mickle continued, “Season 3 is an Arctic story with exciting new adventures and what we hope will be a satisfying conclusion to this epic tale. Gus is going to see a side of the world and humanity that he didn’t see in Season 1 or 2.”

New series regulars joining the cast for Season 3 include:

  • Rosalind Chao (Zhang) has been upped to a series regular. Previous credits include Better Things and Mulan.
  • Amy Seimetz (Birdie) has been upped to a series regular. Previous credits include No Sudden Move and Pet Sematary.
  • Cara Gee (Siana) joins as a new series regular. Previous credits include The Expanse and Call Of The Wild.
  • Newcomer Ayazhan Dalabayeva (Nuka) joins as a new series regular.

Jim Mickle (Stake Land) is the writer, showrunner, executive producer and director of “Sweet Tooth.” Executive Producers also include Team Downey’s Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell; and Linda Moran; and Team Downey’s Evan Moore.

From Warner Bros. Television, “Sweet Tooth” stars Christian Convery as Gus, Nonso Anozie as Jepperd, Adeel Akhtar as Dr. Singh, Stefania LaVie Owen as Bear, Dania Ramirez as Aimee Eden, Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh, Naledi Murray as Wendy, Neil Sandilands as General Abbot, Marlon Williams as Johnny Abbot, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. as Teddy Turtle and Yonas Kibreab as Finn Fox; with James Brolin as the voice of the narrator.

“Sweet Tooth” is based on the DC comic book series by Jeff Lemire.

“I’m the Grim Reaper” – Sam Raimi Teams with ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Writers on Gory, Funny Webtoon Adaptation

I'm the Grim Reaper

The Wattpad/Webtoons and Grave Weaver-created series “I’m the Grim Reaper” is nearing its 200th episode, and it’s also getting a new TV series adaptation with talented names behind it. Deadline reports that celebrated filmmaker Sam Raimi is teaming up with 10 Cloverfield Lane scribes Josh Campbell & Matt Stuecken on the new series.

The series follows “Scarlet, a young woman who wakes up in the ninth circle of hell with no idea how she got there. Satan offers to send Scarlet back to Earth if she’ll work as his reaper. But it doesn’t take long for Scarlet to realize that Satan’s offer is even worse than she feared.”

The story is said to fit perfectly into “Raimi’s wheelhouse, striking a deft balance between scares, gore and humor.”

Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi will executive produce the series with Weaver, who’ll also team on the development process. Raimi may be most known for his Spider-Man and Evil Dead movies, but the filmmaker has been busy behind the scenes producing. More recently, Raimi produced this week’s action brawler Boy Kills World and last year’s 65, with Don’t Move on the way.

The “I’m the Grim Reaper” webtoon launched in 2019, delving into the humor and horrors of reaping souls in Hell. That it’s on the cusp of airing its 200th episode means no shortage of story and mythology for Campbell and Stuecken to pull from.

Stay tuned for additional details on this new series as they arrive.
