Chucky Season 3 October

Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes, we couldn’t be sure if “Chucky” Season 3 would be premiering this Halloween as originally planned, but today brings very good news.

First reported by Entertainment Weekly, “Chucky” Season 3 will premiere on October 4, 2023!

EW notes, “EW has confirmed that Season 3 of Chucky will premiere 9 p.m. ET/PT, Oct. 4, on Syfy and USA. Season 3 episodes will be available next day on Peacock, which is also screening seasons 1 and 2. You can text Chucky, at your own risk, at 201-500-3347.”

UPDATE: Season 2 won’t arrive on Peacock until September 4.

You can watch the official announcement video for “Chucky” Season 3 below, which confirms that Jennifer Tilly will be back in the new season of Don Mancini’s hit series!

What can we expect from Season 3? Well let’s talk about where things stand right now…

The Season 2 finale saw the return of the walking, talking Glen/Glenda doll, once again voiced by Billy Boyd(!) and once again housing the souls of both Glen and Glenda. The doll’s new chosen name is now GG, and they’ve set off on their own adventures in the UK. As for Glen and Glenda in their human forms, played by Lachlan Watson, those bodies are no more.

GG’s mom Tiffany is now being hunted down by Nica Pierce, who is no longer burdened with the soul of Charles Lee Ray. Tiffany is hiding out in New York City, and Nica is hot on her tail.

Jake, Devon, and Lexy, meanwhile, attempted to have a peaceful Christmas celebration with Lexy’s mother, and though some relationships were mended and some moments of peace were indeed found, it wasn’t long before Chucky Prime – in the body of a brand new Good Guys doll – came down the chimney with a chainsaw. Chucky managed to brutally kill off Lexy’s mom in one of the franchise’s all-time great kill scenes, and Lexy turned the tables on Chucky. She chainsaw massacred Chucky, at the time believing it to be the final doll imbued with Charles Lee Ray’s soul. But there’s at least one other Chucky doll still out there…

The other big surprise in the season finale was that Lexy’s sister Caroline is now in league with Tiffany Valentine, convinced by Chucky that Tiffany is actually her real mother. Caroline has essentially moved over to the dark side, working side-by-side with Tiffany.

Stay tuned for more on “Chucky” Season 3 and all things “Chucky” as we learn it!

“Crystal Lake” Update: A24 Going a “Different Way” with the ‘Friday the 13th’ TV Series

Published

This week has brought a lot of confusion about “Crystal Lake,” A24Peacock and Bryan Fuller’s (“Hannibal”) television series expansion of the Friday the 13th franchise. While reports and rumors spread about A24 pulling the plug on the series, we told you on Monday that that’s not exactly the case. Rather, the project is being retooled behind the scenes.

So what exactly is going on here? Bryan Fuller has taken to Instagram tonight to provide an update. The bad news? Fuller is no longer involved with the “Crystal Lake” series.

The good news? That doesn’t mean A24 is giving up hope on the project.

Fuller writes on Instagram, “Adapting classic horror is something I have some experience with. These shows require a vision that elevates and transforms, as well as delivers what audiences have come to expect, which is an ambitious and risky endeavor. It requires people to take the leap with me.

“When it works, as with HANNIBAL, the results can be powerful for the storytellers and the audience. I couldn’t be more proud of the work my co-showrunner Jim Danger Gray and I were able to accomplish with our brilliant writing staff despite the challenges we faced.

For reasons beyond our control, A24 has elected to go a different way with the material. We hope the final product will be something Friday the 13th fans all over the world will enjoy.”

A24 and Peacock are now searching for a new showrunner for the series. Stay tuned.

Peacock had given the project a straight-to-series order in 2022, with “Crystal Lake” being described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise featuring both Jason Voorhees and his mother, Pamela Voorhees. Original Friday the 13th final girl Adrienne King had even signed on for a recurring role in the planned A24 television series.

Bryan Fuller was to serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer, with Victor Miller (who penned the original classic) producing with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24.

Kevin Williamson (Scream, Sick) was on board to write an episode, last we heard.
