SYFY is bringing the comic book Revival to the small screen, we recently learned, and Variety reports today that pro wrestler CM Punk (Girl on the Third Floor) has joined the cast.
CM Punk is said to have joined “Revival” for a “recurring role.” Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, Steven Ogg, and Andy McQueen will also star.
“On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the ‘revived’ appear and act just like they once were.
“When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.”
From Blue Ice Pictures, the upcoming Revival TV series will be executive produced by Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Daniel March, Luke Boyce and Aaron Koontz.
The Revival comic book series was created by Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash) and artist Mike Norton, and it was published by Image Comics between July 2012 and February 2017.
