Peacock has debuted the teaser trailer for “The ‘Burbs,” a mystery comedy series based on Joe Dante‘s 1989 cult classic of the same name.
Keke Palmer (Nope), Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise), Julia Duffy (“Newhart”), Paula Pell (“Saturday Night Live”), Mark Proksch (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Kapil Talwalkar (“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”) star.

Set in present-day suburbia, Palmer and Whithall play a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.
Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.
Creator/showrunner Celeste Hughey (“Dead to Me”) writes with Rachel Shukert (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), while Nzingha Stewart (Tall Girl, “Daisy Jones & the Six”) directs.
Guest stars include Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), RJ Cyler (Power Rangers), Justin Kirk (“Weeds”), Kyrie McAlpin (“Will Trent”), Danielle Kennedy (“Narcos”), and Randy Oglesby (“Star Trek: Enterprise”).

The show was shot on the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles, just like the movie — which starred Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommun, and Corey Feldman.
