‘Untamed’ Season 2 Enters Production, Eric Bana to Investigate a Mysterious Death in Hawaii
Production has commenced on the second season of Netflix’s mystery thriller series “Untamed,” with filming taking place on location on O’ahu and Hawaii.
Eric Bana returns to star as special agent Kyle Turner. He’s called to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the volatile, living landscape become an unpredictable force.
The cast also includes Shea Whigham, Moon Bloodgood, Kekoa Kekumano, Luciane Buchanan, Kelly Hu, Moronai Kanekoa, Robbie Magasiva, Myra Molloy, Branscombe Richmond, Matthew Keoni Sato, and Joe Tippett.
The first of Season 2’s six episodes will be directed by Nick Murphy (The Awakening), who helmed two episodes in Season 1.
From Warner Bros. Television, the series is created by father-daughter showrunners Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Twisters) and Elle Smith (The Marsh King’s Daughter).
“We’re excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite,” said the Smiths.
“Untamed” Season 1 debuted at #1 on the Netflix global charts upon its release last July and became the third most watched title on Netflix in the second half of 2025 with 92.8M views.
Executive producers include Bana, Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith, John Wells & Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions, Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment, Todd Black & Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment, and Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions.

The Ghostbusters franchise returns to the world of animation with brand new Netflix series “Ghostbusters: Night Shift,” and the official logo has been revealed this weekend.
Expect “Ghostbusters: Night Shift” to clock in on Netflix in 2027!
Netflix previews, “Ghostbusters: Night Shift, a series from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation based on the beloved Ghostbusters franchise, will debut exclusively on Netflix in 2027.
“The new series marks the next chapter in the franchise’s ghoul-catching legacy, bringing supernatural comedy and paranormal action back to animation.”
The upcoming animated series from Netflix will be executive produced by Ben Hibon, Elliott Kalan, Jason Reitman, Gil Kenan, Amie Karp, and Dan Aykroyd.
Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, director of the original Ghostbusters features, and Kenan co-wrote the franchise’s most recent installments, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
“This isn’t the first time the Ghostbusters universe has gone animated,” Netflix reminds in their press release today. “The 1980s and ’90s saw The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters take over the small screen. For now, you can rest assured: If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, a Ghostbuster will be on the job — even if it’s after hours.”
