‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 3 Gets Summer Premiere Date on AMC [Teaser]

To rebuild this city, it needs people willing to fight for it. AMC has announced that the third season of spinoff series “The Walking Dead: Dead City” will premiere on July 26, 2026.

Check out the official teaser trailer below for your invite back to “Dead City.”

You’ll also find a preview of the season over on Entertainment Weekly this afternoon, which features some first-look images from Season 3 along with a very intriguing tease.

EW writes, “things are changing up quite a bit for Season 3, with [stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan] filming an entire alternate reality episode taking place in a very different looking New York City.” The outlet further teases a scene they previewed, “While we’re quite used to seeing the characters of Negan and Maggie in New York at this point, something about this particular scene still feels odd. Why is Morgan’s Negan — clad in black from beanie-wearing head to boot-wearing toe — also sporting an ankle monitor? How come the streets seem so clean? Why is that random couple who look like they stepped out of an Old Navy catalog just strolling down the street all nonchalant? AND WHERE ARE ALL THE ZOMBIES?!?”

Fan favorites Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan star alongside Gaius Charles, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Keir Gilchrist, Aimee Garcia, and Jimmi Simpson.

Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead, Smile 2) has also joined “Dead City” Season 3.

In “The Walking Dead: Dead City” Season 3, “Maggie and Negan finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse, but when chaos in the city begins to arise, they are forced to question: have they learned from their old wounds or will their dark past spell doom for the entire city?”

Seth Hoffman (“The Walking Dead”, “Prison Break”) is the showrunner for Season 3.
