‘Yellowjackets’ Final Season Images – The Gang Returns for One More Season This November

The hit series “Yellowjackets” is coming to an end later this year with the fourth and final season, and Entertainment Weekly just ran a preview this week with several first look images.

“Yellowjackets” Season 4 premieres November 20 on the Paramount+ Premium Plan.

Series co-creator Ashley Lyle tells Entertainment Weekly, “We had so much fun in the writers’ room just thinking of all these little moments and how much they would mean. We really wanted to dig into as many as possible. We’re so happy we got here because, to us, this is the big payoff.”

Lyle continues, “We’ve spent three seasons with the before and the much after, but through bridging that gap of these characters and how they transitioned from who they were before they crashed, and who they were while they were out there, to who they became, was just so juicy in terms of character, and we wanted to spend as much time there as humanly possible.”

The outlet notes that each episode of the final season will focus on a specific character.

Lyle teases, “We really wanted each of them to have their own story.”

So why is this the end for “Yellowjackets”? Lyle explains, “What we realized at a certain point was that five seasons would require dragging things out a little bit, and four seasons would require speeding things up. And ultimately, given the choice between the two, we feel good about how this played out. I would rather go out with a bang than overstay my welcome.”

“There’s such a freedom that comes with this being the end,” Lyle notes. “You get to just go for it. And I don’t know that that changed the story that we wanted to tell, but it certainly informed how we told it. We just said, ‘Let’s go for it. Let’s take the really big swings.’ Because even when I watch shows, I appreciate a big swing. This was an opportunity to do things that were a little crazy and maybe they’ll land, maybe they won’t, but we got to try and that was really important to us.”

Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, and Nia Sondaya star alongside Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, Simone Kessell, Warren Kole, Hilary Swank, Sarah Desjardins, and Elijah Wood.

Molly Ringwald and June Squibb are joining the cast in Season 4.

Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of high school soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. Ashley Lyle co-created the series with Bart Nickerson.
