‘The Brookhaven Experiment’ Sends Player Into a Near Panic Attack
The upcoming HTC Vive VR shooter The Brookhaven Experiment is coming on June 22nd but there are already people showing off the demo and just how intense it can get. Considering that this game requires players to immerse themselves 100% both visually and aurally, it’s not surprising that some of these demonstration videos show the players reacting rather strongly to being beset upon at all sides by zombies.
Take for example Renate, who played through the first wave only to remove all hardware and refuse to go any further due to how visceral of a reaction she felt. You can watch a great video below that splitscreens her view of the game as well as how she acts in real life. It’s rather fascinating to see how her jittery nervousness is so wonderfully registered in the VR gameplay. Check out the video below and see everything in action!
Brookhaven is a VR survival shooter for the HTC Vive. Players will have to use the weapons and tools provided to survive ever more terrifying waves of horrific monsters in an attempt to figure out what caused the beginning of the end of the world, and, if they’re strong enough, stop it from happening.
After a few delays that resulted in the game missing its original June release, Kwalee and Australian solo indie developer Bun Muen‘s co-op detective horror title Shift at Midnight has finally launched on PC via Steam and itch.io, and the Xbox Series. Steam users can grab a 10% launch discount from now until July 29.
Shift at Midnight is an online co-op title for up to 3 players, where you and your friends work together across randomly generated shifts to investigate their customers at a local gas station. Managing a gas station is tough work, as you’ll need to keep your stock shelves full and sell enough products to meet your quota each night, take deliveries and keep your store tidy.
At the same time, you’ll need to interrogate each customer as you serve – as some are not human and are in fact doppelgangers.To do so, you may ask each customer five questions, examine their ID, cross-check their details in the computer, and observe their behaviour.
If you miss one doppelganger, they will return later that shift to try and kill you and your friends. To prevent this, you must take the obvious route and execute them on site. If you mess up, be prepared to set traps, barricade the doors and hide as the doppelgangers return as monsters.
