Bloody Nightmare Imagery Teases the World of ‘The Evil Within 2’
Not only is Friday the 13th: The Game getting its hotly anticipated physical release this coming October, but sequel The Evil Within 2 is arriving on the very same date. Today, Bethesda teased the forthcoming release with a series of in-game images and GIFs that promise a whole lot of bloodshed.
The images are plucked from “Stefano’s Gallery,” an antagonist in the game who fancies himself an artist. “Stefano’s mind has been warped, and his pursuit of pure beauty has taken him too far,” the site notes. “Stefano and his creations are just a few of the horrors Sebastian will face in The Evil Within 2.”
You’ll be able to explore Stefano’s work in the game. Preview it below.
In the survival-horror sequel…
You are Detective Sebastian Castellanos and at your lowest point. But when given a chance to save your daughter, you must enter a world filled with nightmares and discover the dark origins of a once-idyllic town to bring her back.
Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around you. Will you face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive? This is your one chance at redemption, and the only way out is in.
The Evil Within 2 releases Friday, October 13 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
