‘Halloween’ Pack Now Available On ‘Dead by Daylight’ Console Version!

Behavior Interactive’s slasher game Dead by Daylight was finally made available on Xbox One and Playstation 4 back in June, and as we recently told you, the “Halloween Chapter” DLC pack will be added to the console version this month.

That pack, previously available on PC, includes Michael Myers and Laurie Strode as playable characters, along with a Haddonfield map. IT’S OUT NOW.

With that out, will we ever see other slasher icons brought into the game? In a recent chat with DVS Gaming, Behavior’s Mathieu Cote teased that it’s very possible!

We are in a position where we’ve talked to a few license holders about a few possible licenses, and we’re open to it,” Cote told the site, when asked if other licensed characters would ever make their way into the game. “Our universe that we’ve created, the lore needs to lend itself some specific licenses joining us. Michael Myers fit well into our world. We didn’t have to bend rules to make him fit, and we could find a way to express what he stands for as a killer with game mechanics.”

Cote added, “For us its important that if we look for an opportunity a license to add into the game, they need to be a match at the start. Obviously, we want to respect and honor what those characters are. But they need to bring something new and exciting to enhance our game.”

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical, multiplayer (4 vs 1) horror game where one player takes on the role of a savage killer, and the other four players become survivors frantically scurrying to avoid being caught, tortured and killed. Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

The Survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.

Cote teased the “Halloween Chapter” last year, “it’s based on the original movie. Michael is the ultimate stalker. So as opposed to all the other killers that we have, Michael sees you and he watches you. So the power of Michael grows as he’s stalking you. And at some point he will be able to build up that meter, that power, until he becomes evil incarnate.

All of us here at Bloody Disgusting are deeply sad to learn that actress Daveigh Chase has passed away at just 35 years old. The news was first reported by TMZ this afternoon.

The outlet reports, “The actress’ boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, tells TMZ … Daveigh died Tuesday from meningitis and an infection in her blood, which caused her to have septic issues and led to her body shutting down.” The website’s report continues, “We’re told Daveigh had been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this month because of malnutrition.”

Here in the horror world, a young Daveigh Chase memorably played Samara in Gore Verbinski’s 2002 horror movie The Ring, the American remake of the Japanese horror hit.

Far outside the horror world, Daveigh Chase voiced Lilo in the 2002 animated movie Lilo & Stitch, a character she continued to voice in various animated spinoff projects.

Chase also appeared as Samantha Darko in the 2001 classic Donnie Darko, later returning to play the sister of Donnie Darko in the 2009 spinoff movie titled S. Darko.

Daveigh Chase’s resume also includes roles on the TV shows “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Charmed,” “ER,” “Touched by an Angel,” “CSI,” “Cold Case,” and 32 episodes of “Big Love.”

Chase appeared in the films The Rats, Silence, Carolina, Beethoven’s 5th, Yellow, Little Red Wagon, Transference, Killer Crush, Jack Goes Home, and American Romance.

We send our deepest condolences to Daveigh Chase’s family, friends, and fans.
