‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ Adding Character from ‘New Blood’ as Playable Counselor

Published

on

Friday the 13th may not be until tomorrow, but the developers of Friday the 13th: The Game decided not to wait to bring some Friday-related goodies to the table. They’ve just unveiled their next playable character today, who goes by the name Victoria Sterling but is clearly based on mean girl Melissa from Part 7: The New Blood!

Gun Media’s Wes Keltner details the familiar-looking new character…

“I would like to introduce Victoria Sterling, Camp Crystal Lake’s newest counselor. Similar to Chad, Victoria comes from money and she is used to getting her way. So much so that she often is perceived as “bitchy” and manipulative. She doesn’t mean any physical harm, but it’s safe to say that in a pinch, she’s looking out for herself first.

Victoria has low repair and strength, so she will need to rely on her above average stamina pool and stealth skills. It would be ill-advised for Victoria to square up to Jason without some additional help from another counselor. In a 1v1 situation you’ll find Victoria doing less fighting, and more yelling for her Dad…the Dean of an Ivy League junior college. Getting a better picture now of Victoria? She’s the worst, in the best possible way!

Victoria will be added at no additional cost in the next update. Note; Victoria will not have access to the premium DLC clothing packs (Spring Break and Halloween).”

Check out Victoria’s stat screen below and look for her in the game very soon!

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has two awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Latest ‘Hellraiser: Revival’ Dev Diary Explores The Horrors of Hell [Watch]

Published

Saber Interactive delve into the roots of the horrors you’ll face in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival with the latest developer diary. Once again featuring Pinhead himself, Doug Bradley, along with members of the development team, the video focuses on the disturbing enemies and themes you’ll face on your journey in the game, and how the creation of this content affected the development team.

In addition, we’re given a bit more information on the story, which reveals that players won’t just be dealing with the Cenobites. They will, in fact, have to contend with two other key factions.

The first is the Scarlet Church, a cult led by a charismatic figure named Marlowe. The Church hopes to establish contact with the Cenobites and seeks to use the mysterious Genesis Configuration puzzle box to create a debauched paradise for themselves.

The other group is the Unworthy, once-human wretches who sought after the ultimate experiences of sensation but were denied by Leviathan, ruler of the otherworldly Labyrinth. These rejects of Hell, monsters who think and behave differently from the cultists of the Church, are drawn to the Genesis Configuration as a potential path to redemption.

Both the Scarlet Church and the Unworthy will offer completely different combat experiences, each with their own challenges to overcome. Luckily, you have at your disposal an arsenal of earthly weapons, as well as the power of the Genesis Configuration, which makes use of the game’s grisly dismemberment system. But beware – the Labyrinth has its own unsettling traps and challenges to survive.

Hellraiser: Revival launches October 8 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. Pre-orders are now open.
