Dedicated Servers for ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ Rolling Out on PlayStation 4 Today

As the makers of Friday the 13th: The Game have made clear, just because they can’t create any more new content *does not* mean they can’t keep the game alive and running. Long story short, the franchise’s rights issues have killed the possibility of literally any new content being added to the game, but they’re still hard at work improving what already exists.

Up next? At long last, dedicated servers!!

Announced on Twitter this morning, the team is rolling out dedicated servers on PlayStation 4 today, with the XBox One server update coming at a later date.

What does this mean, you ask?

Players do not host the match, so if Jason kills the “host” and they quit, the game continues,” the team notes. “If Jason quits then the counselors remaining survive.”

In other words, an all around better gameplay experience for us all.
