Despite Telltale’s closure, we “potentially” may see a proper conclusion to The Walking Dead: The Final Season. That being said, what about that now-cancelled Stranger Things game? Well, it seems Devolver Digital has thrown their hat into the ring to save the game.
In response to Netflix’s statement regarding the cancellation, Devolver offered a public invitation to Netflix on Twitter for Devolver and Stories Untold dev No Code to handle the license:
Hello @Netflix, we would be happy to make a Stranger Things game with @_NoCode. Resume here, DMs are open: https://t.co/zlPG9foSqT
— Devolver Digital (@devolverdigital) September 24, 2018
As a gesture of awesomeness, Devolver also stated that if any former Telltale employees wanted to “continue their vision for what was planned”, they’re welcome to reach out to Devolver.
Having Devolver pick up the license would be pretty cool, since Stories Untold really does fit into the mold that Stranger Things has established with its 80s throwback. It could definitely work, in my opinion. No official response from Netflix on the matter, but it does give fans some hope.
