VR fans won’t be left out of the October glut of horror goodness this year, as developer Bolder Games have revealed their psychological VR horror title RED: Lucid Nightmare will drop next month on October 1st on Steam, as well as the Oculus Rift.
You are Mercedes, a down-on-her-luck investigative journalist who has moved back into her family’s remote mountain home following an accident. After being given a missing persons case, she must discover the connection between her recurring nightmares and the missing family. During the day, players will need to search for the missing family, while at night, they must explore and navigate Mercedes’ nightmares in order to try and solve the case.
Armed with a lighter, a flashlight and later a radio, players will need to be on the lookout for traps in the nightmare world, and listen carefully as you traverse through the environments. Adding to the fun are monsters that lurk in the corridors of the nightmare world, which track your moves.
