‘The Shapeshifting Detective’ Release Date, Pre-Orders Announced

Published

on

D’Avekki Studios and Wales Interactive’s FMV supernatural-noir murder mystery The Shapeshifting Detective (which was announced a few months back) not only now has a release date, but has a surprise for longtime fans of the genre.

Arriving on Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on November 6, 2018, the game is currently up for pre-order on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a 20% discount, with the Switch having its pre-order available on October 23rd.

As well, two new additions to the game’s voiceovers have been announced. Radio August, the in-game radio broadcast that features a streaming radio broadcast of “specially-selected dark fiction”, will guest star YouTube gaming personality, Jesse Cox, and FMV legend Chris Jones, better known as Tex Murphy in the long-running Tex Murphy series.

In The Shapeshifting Detective, you are put in the role of investigating a murder of Dorota Shaw. The prime suspects are three tarot readers with the uncanny ability to predict, or commit, murder. It’s your job to find out what else they know – but they won’t reveal their secrets to just anyone. Using your shapeshifting ability, you can change into nine other characters (or remain as yourself) to get the answers you need. Be careful, however, as you may end up the next victim.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Brings ‘Fortnite’ to Life with New ‘Fortnitemares’ Scare Zone

Published

Epic’s Fortnite is heading for another crossover, this time with Universal Orlando and Halloween Horror Nights. The title’s annual Fortnitemares Halloween event will be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort in a new scare zone, kicking off on August 28.

For those not in the know, Scare zones are themed, open-air areas where guests and actors roam around freely.

This is the first time Fortnite will be featured during the after-hours event, which will run from August 28 until November 1. Tickets and packages are on sale now at the official site.

Per the press release, guests will enter Freaky Fields, a Halloween-inspired living battleground that’s been “overcome with a threatening force.” From there, fans will meet up with the Battle Bus, featuring familiar Fortnitemares characters, including “a few new additions exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights.”

And of course, there will be Fortnitemares merchandise available for fans, including a graphic t-shirt, decal set, and an acrylic collectible piece.

Fortnitemares won’t be the only featured property at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Killer Klowns from Outer Space will also be getting its own scare zone. Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn will also be part of the event, though they will be relegated to their own specific houses.

And while it’s early yet, gamers can probably expect Fortnitemares to return to Fortnite this October.
