If you’re in the market for more PlayStation VR horror, and don’t mind importing, then Koei Tecmo’s Horror Sense: Daruma-san ga Koronda might be for you. The VR Sense arcade title will launch for PSVR via the PlayStation Store on January 25 in Japan. And yes, that’s the same day as you-know-what from Capcom.
And yes, if you’re wondering, it’s possible to buy Japanese games on the Japanese PlayStation Store for use in North America. You’ll just have to work a little harder to get it.
In the arcade, the game was part of Koei Tecmo’s VR Sense line that during certain moments in gameplay, emitted scents (and in some cases, mist). Obviously, this feature isn’t going to be part of the PSVR version, but the core game remains there. In Daruma-san ga Koronda, players are presented with two scenarios, with the objective to find torn pieces of notes that will reveal the truth behind the ghost of their story for the best ending.
If the player encounters the ghost of their particular scenario, they may be given a timed-sequence to play a sort of “Red Light, Green Light”: If they move when the ghost is looking, they will be pushed back, while moving too slow results in an instant game over. You can check out footage of the arcade version of the game below.
No word on if the game will see a North American release.
