‘Metro Exodus’ Sells 2.5 Times More on Epic Games Store Launch Than Its Predecessor on Steam

In what will surely annoy some people, Epic Games shared a bit of info last week at GDC regarding some info on a couple of the games that it had for its service. One of which was Deep Silver’s Metro Exodus, which shockingly made the jump from Steam to Epic’s platform a few weeks before its release.

According to Epic, Metro Exodus has so far has reached sales over 2.5 times the amount that the series’ previous entry, 2013’s Metro: Last Light, had reached when it debuted on Steam in the same period of time. Epic didn’t reveal the exact numbers for the title, but it appears that Metro Exodus made the right choice when jumping ship.

However, the cynical person could say that even if the title hadn’t jumped platforms, the previews and positive buzz would’ve still made the game a hit. Plus, seeing as Epic is trying to prove that their service is more than a match for Valve, this could also be seen as puffing themselves up.

The real test will be when the trio of Quantic Dream ports, alongside other Epic Games Store exclusives (including Control and World War Z), hit the service later this year.
