As they did last year at PAX East 2018, Cradle Games and tinyBuild have unveilled a new trailer at PAX East 2019 for their upcoming sci-fi action-RPG, Hellpoint.
The game is tentatively set for a Summer release on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While you can still technically download the demo from last year, it’s actually been unlisted from Steam (due to it being, well, old).
In Hellpoint, you’re aboard the decrepit space station Irid Novo after a quantum collapse has turned everyone onboard into insane monsters. The Irid Novo station orbits a black hole, and enemy behavior changes based on where the station is located in its orbital rotation. You play as a mysterious nameless character whose intentions are entirely determined by your choices.
One of the neat things about Hellpoint is its Quantic System: A series of interconnected systems that are utilizing a server clock to decide when and where a particular dynamic event should occur. Walk down a corridor that you previously cleared out, and a door has opened with fresh baddies inside. Enemies will either shrink away in fear as you approach, or charge at you in a fit of rage.
