Last year, Shotgun with Glitters’ voxel-based shooter The Padre hit PAX West with a blend of horror and humour in its gameplay. For the rest of us, we’ll soon get a taste of redemption, as the devs have announced that the title will hit Steam, PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in a matter of weeks on April 18th.
The game mixes in puzzles and combat, alongside “classic horror game throwbacks and references”. On the trail of Cardinal Benedictus, your old mentor, you find yourself alone and without your demon-slaying tools inside a mansion, which is infested with evil supernatural power. What’s a man of the cloth to do but cut loose with firepower and your wicked sense of humor? Be wary though, if you fail enough times, it’s a permanent Game Over.
