Bethesda will roll out its final “Wild Appalachia” update for Fallout 76 later this month with Patch 9, which will include the ability for players to set up and run their own shops. The update will also include Legendary Exchange Machines and a new Survival Beta scoreboard stat.
The player shops function as a type of vending machine, which can be placed in your camp. With your vending machine, you can assign items from your stash and choose their cap prices. They’ll remain in the stash until sold, but will be easily identifiable. You don’t need to hang around to make sales, but you’ll be notified when someone has made a purchase. There’s a ten percent fee that gets taken off every sale, so mark up your prices accordingly (if you’d like).
As for the legendary exchange machines, these machines are used to exchange legendary items for Legendary Scrip, a new currency that can be spent on different legendary items. This is all in preparation for The Purveyor, a new Mole Miner vendor who will be added later this month. When she opens the doors to her shop, you’ll be able to exchange Legendary Scrip for legendary items.
As for the new scoreboard stat, Survival Score will allow players “a more well-rounded way to evaluate [their] feats, while also giving PVP-focused players a clear way to rise through the rankings and chase the excitement of fending off challengers.”
The way it works is that you will receive one Survival Point for every Experience Point you earn while playing in the Survival Beta, with the total number of Survival Points will determine your placement on the Scoreboards. The three players with the highest Survival Scores will be highlighted on the Map. On death, your Survival Score will be reset to zero, and when you kill another player, 75% of their Survival Points will be added to your Survival Score.
There are also other small tweaks, such as weapon adjustments, which you can read up on in the patch notes. The new patch is expected on May 7.
