Alleged ‘Mass Effect’ Writer Posts Cryptic Tweet With Picture From ‘Aliens’

Who says Shinji Mikami doesn’t have the right idea?

A Twitter user going by the handle of @WS_Dandelion posted a cryptic tweet last night, accompanied by that iconic shot from Aliens of Newt in the sewer, with the Xenomorph rising up behind her. Now while this might all be someone trolling us, the Twitter user’s profile states that they’re were the writer behind The Outer Worlds, Mass Effect, Dawngate, Asheron’s Call, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Magic: the Gathering.

Speculation from some Twitter users is that the person behind the handle is Narrative Design Coordinator at Wizards of the Coast Chris L’Etoile, who has worked on all of those games.

The next question is just what they’re referring to with this tweet. Some fans were less-than-thrilled that this year’s Alien: Blackout (read our take here) was a mobile game, rather than a much-requested sequel to Sega’s hit, Alien: Isolation. Could this be a tease for a sequel to Isolation, or a new Alien game entirely? Last I checked, it’s still the 40th anniversary of the franchise this year.

Plus, there are still some folks who miss the cancelled Mass Effect-like Alien: Crucible.

Then again, it could all be someone blowing smoke up our collective asses. Regardless, one can hold out hope that someone has something Aliens related cooking that could be in store for us at this year’s E3.
