If you’ve been paying attention, folks like Puppet Horror have been making noise with their throwback games that are purposely styled to echo 90s survival horror classics. In this case, Somewhat is continuing that trend with their upcoming game, Please.
The game, which can be completed in seven minutes, is to the point and purposely vague in its description: In an alternate timeline where we won the war, you are the repair person. You fix things. You keep things running. You do what you’re told. We asked you so nicely.
Despite the short length, the game definitely has the creep factor thanks to its vagueness. You wake up in a building, presumably an apartment building, where strange noises are heard behind the other residents’ doors. Every day you head down to the basement where the aforementioned machine resides. You repair some boxes, or flip some switches. It only gets stranger from there.
