Experience Surreal 1-bit Graphics And Scary Stories in ‘Critters For Sale’

Those fans of the 1-bit art style shown in Panstasz’s World of Horror might like what they see in Sonoshee’s Critters For Sale. Another hybrid visual novel and traditional Point-and-Click game, Critters For Sale uses the same old-school Apple II look of black and white pixel-based graphics, but it’s trippy. Scarily trippy.

The game itself is divided into five episodes (or stories) named Snake, Goat, Monkey, Dragon, and Spider. Two of the stores are available for free on Sonoshee’s itch.io page. According to the dev, the stories are inspired by North African and Middle Eastern folktales. Things like black magic, alternate realities, Gnawa rituals and more.

The remaining episodes (along with the two that have already been released) will be released on the game’s Steam page. Definitely check it out if you’re into these surreal type of visuals and stories.
