Raids Coming to ‘Fallout 76’ This August

Published

on

At this year’s QuakeCon, Bethesda has revealed during a panel discussion (which you can see below) that as part of their continued development of Fallout 76, fans will soon be able to conduct raids. These raids are designed for 4-player teams, and will take place in Vault 94 starting on August 20th. Subsequently, a second raid is being developed as well for a different vault, and will arrive “in the not too distant future.”

This news comes on top of the other goodies the game will be getting, including the new map in September for Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter (the game’s Battle Royale mode), private servers, and the Wastelanders dialogue system being more like Fallout 3 than Fallout 4.

This initial Vault 94 raid is described as being “very puzzle based”, with levels of difficulty to choose from, with the higher difficulties adding a timer and increasing the awards earned. A new type of power armor was also revealed (referred to as the “potted plant” power armor by project lead Jeff Gardiner), which will improve your stealth. Once you’ve earned the entire set of armor through your repeated Vault 94 raids, you’ll gain an additional bonus.

Some rewards will drop midway through the raid, so you won’t go away empty-handed should the raid not be successful. And while it will be possible for a single player to complete the raid without help, the raids are designed for teams, and as such, offer an increased difficulty.

Fallout 76 is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
