‘Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered’ Gets an October Release Date!

Published

on

Announced back in May, a remastered version of 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game is on the way, and today we’ve learned that it’ll arrive just in time for the Halloween season!

The game will release on October 4 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game was essentially a brand new sequel to the films, co-written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and featuring voice performances from Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. Set two years after the events of Ghostbusters 2 (in 1991), you play an unnamed rookie character being trained by Venkman, Stantz, Spengler, and Zeddemore.

After a PKE shockwave disperses ghosts all over New York City, you and the gang are tasked with saving the day, and the team eventually discovers that Ivo Shandor is trying to bring another Gozer-like Destructor into the world of the living. Along the way, they (and you) have run-ins with Slimer, the Library Ghost, Walter Peck, Vigo the Carpathian and Stay Puft.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
