Longtime gamers know about Hideo Kojima’s early hits in Snatcher and Policenauts. While the latter was never officially released in the West, these games set the tone for Kojima’s storytelling prowess with Metal Gear Solid.
So, why am I telling you all of this? Well, with Death Stranding not too far off, fans have been busy with fanart and other interesting endeavours. One fan by the name of Amos Sorri (who also directed and starred in the web series Silent Hill – The Promise) took some time to create a mashup illustration done in the style of Policenauts artwork with characters from Death Stranding.
The artwork in question features the protagonist of Death Stranding, Norman Reedus’ Sam, standing alongside the masked and Die-Hardman.
Took a little time off and had some fun. #DeathStranding #Policenauts crossover. #Fanart @Kojima_Hideo @Kaizerkunkun @akisaitokojipro @wwwbigbaldhead @teejaye84 pic.twitter.com/xPmz8fAU9q

If you’re curious, an English translation of Policenauts has been available for download since 2009. While I prefer Kojima’s mix of Blade Runner and Terminator in Snatcher, Policenauts is still a great game. Death Stranding will release exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on November 8th.
