Yesterday was a momentous occasion for System Shock. The game celebrated its 25th anniversary, and to celebrate, Nightdive Studios (the current rights holder) held a livestream with the game’s producer Warren Spector, designer Tim Stellmach, and the voice of Shodan herself, Terri Brosius.
That’s not all, however. You may recall that Nightdive last year pushed out an enhanced version of the cyberpunk classic. Well, for those who love physical copies (and in particular, classic big box PC games), Nightdive has announced that they’ve teamed up with Limited Run Games to do just that.
No release date has been announced for this new physical edition of System Shock, but the box will feature some sweet redesigned artwork. In addition, Limited Run Games will also be selling the soundtrack to the original by Greg LoPiccolo and Tim Ries in a new two-LP set.
Of course, the remake of System Shock is still being worked on by Nightdive, which is expected for release in 2020.
