Free League Publishing Releases New ‘Alien’ Tabletop RPG Game
With Alien Isolation now out on the Nintendo Switch, what’s next for Alien fans? Luckily, Free League Publishing have just the thing if you’re looking for more Xenomorph action.
Today the company announced the launch of the Alien tabletop roleplaying game, along with a host of supplements. The game is now available at the Free League webshop, at DrivethruRPG, and in retail stores worldwide.
The Alien RPG core rulebook, published in partnership with 20th Century Fox, is a beautifully illustrated full-color hardcover book, both presenting the world of Alien in the year 2183 and a fast and effective ruleset designed specifically to enhance the gameplay experience. Alongside the core book, Free League is also releasing the “Chariot of the Gods” scenario for the game by Andrew E.C Gaska, two sets of custom dice, a GM Screen, a custom card deck, and Maps & Markers Pack including a huge star map of chartered space in 2183 AD.
The Alien RPG can be played in two distinct game ways: Cinematic play and Campaign play. Cinematic play is based on pre-made scenarios that “emulate the dramatic arc of an Alien film.” Designed to be played in a single session, this game mode emphasizes high stakes and fast and brutal play. Player characters are not all expected to survive. Campaign play is designed for longer continuous play with the same cast of characters over many game sessions, letting players explore the Alien universe freely, sandbox style.
The rules of the game are designed by game director Tomas Härenstam and based on the Year Zero Engine, used in award-winning games such as Tales From the Loop, Forbidden Lands, and Mutant: Year Zero, but adapted and further developed to fully support and enhance the core themes of Alien: Horror and action. Due to the high demand, both the core rulebook and the “Chariot of the Gods” scenario are already being reprinted, so get in on it now.

NECA Reveals ‘Ultimate Santa’s Slay Ghost Face’ Action Figure Featuring Candy Cane Mask and More
NECA has joined forces with Fun World’s Ghost Face brand for a very unique new action figure that dresses Ghost Face up as Santa Claus… complete with a candy cane mask!
The 7″ scale action figure is not based on the Scream franchise, of course, but rather it’s inspired by a Santa Ghost Face mask that the company Fun World recently released.
Fun World owns the rights to the iconic mask, which they license out to the Scream franchise.
NECA previews, “This festive fiend is here to spread some holiday fear and deck the halls—with blood from those on his naughty list. This 7-inch scale action figure wears a soft goods Santa robe and comes with a holiday haul of weapons and accessories: interchangeable hands, heads, and face plate masks (red chrome, green chrome, candy cane, and classic white).”
“Plus, Christmas lights, sharpened bloody candy cane and icicle, classic chrome knife, green-hilted chrome knife, and mini Santa Ghost Face toy,” NECA continues.
“Comes in collector-friendly window box packaging with opening front flap, complete with retro-inspired holiday artwork. Have yourself a scary little Christmas!”
Ultimate Santa’s Slay Ghost Face will be released in Summer 2026.
