‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’ to Use The Unreal Engine
GSC Game World have taken to Twitter to drop a small update in regards to the long-in-development S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. The official Twitter for the game (which has been in development for almost a decade now) has revealed that the game will make use of the Unreal Engine in lieu of the previous games’ X-Ray Engine.

The reasoning behind the switch is to make the game easier to mod for the community, as well as gives the team the ability to better give the game “the atmosphere of tension and mystery”.
Aside from that, nothing more about the game has been revealed, apart from potential platforms for the sequel, which will be discussed in the future by the team.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is slated for a 2021 release.
