Bethesda Reveals Screenshots, More Info on Upcoming Wastelanders Expansion For ‘Fallout 76’
Bethesda have kicked off the new year with a new blog entry dropping more info and screenshots for the upcoming Fallout 76 Wastelanders expansion, which was originally planned for 2019 but was delayed until later this year.
As was previously revealed, the expansion will add human NPCs to the game for the first time. What’s new is the area in which the NPCs will inhabit, called Watoga Underground. Watoga, known as “The City of the Future”, is what you’d call the typical 1940s view of a futuristic city, which “envisions a bustling, walkable metropolis where the streets are clear of illegally parked automobiles, traffic and hit-and-run accidents,” and is built “on top of a massive series of automated parking garage systems which allow citizens to drop off their cars and store them until they’re needed again.”
Other than the Watoga info and a few new screenshots of the area, Bethesda still hasn’t revealed a release date. However, the developers are have also taken the opportunity to announce that Fallout 76 will be having a double XP event taking place from January 9 to January 13.
Fallout 76 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

‘State of Decay 3’ to See Release Next Year; PS5 Version Added [Trailer]
The story that is State of Decay 3 finally appears to be nearing its conclusion. After stating earlier this year that the game was still very much in development, publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Undead Labs have announced that the game will be launching on PlayStation 5 (which was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase), Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2027.
In addition to the announcement, Undead Labs revealed a brand new trailer, giving players the first-ever look at gameplay for State of Decay 3.
According to Undead Labs’ Creative Director Kevin Patzelt, the team has already had playtesters on an Alpha version of the game, who are “having a blast.” The devteam plans on expanding the Alpha and then Beta list over time for players to come play. “We’ve got an audience that’s hungry for this game, the signups were fantastic, they’re going to keep growing and we want to get more.”
To do so, players can sign up for the waitlist to participate at the State of Decay 3 Playtest website. The first wave of playtests will be limited, but the team plans on sharing insights and feedback with everyone as they go, with more opportunities to participate “throughout the year.”
Set years after a zombie apocalypse nearly wiped out humankind, in State of Decay 3, you play as a community of survivors who must carve out a life for yourselve in a world gripped by a blood plague. Build up your settlements with friends, and destroy zombies.
It’s your story, and you must make tough decisions about where to live, what to build, and who to recruit into your community. Permadeath is an ever-present danger to your community, and every risk must be weighed against the reward.
