‘Control’, ‘Death Stranding’ Lead DICE Awards Nominations

Remedy’s Control and Sony’s Death Stranding aren’t done duking it out for awards. Not only are the two games battling for the GDC Awards this year, but both titles lead the pack for the 2020 DICE Awards nominations, which were just announced by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS).

A total of 65 games were nominated, with Control and Death Stranding tied for the most nominations with eight each. Control and Death Stranding have also been nominated for Game of the Year, which went to Sony Santa Monica’s God of War last year.

Other genre titles that have multiple nominations include Disco Elysium with six nominations (including Game of the Year), Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake with three nominations, and The Outer Worlds, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Devil May Cry 5 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with two nominations each.

Other games nominated include Mortal Kombat 11, Samurai Shodown, Days Gone, and Gears 5.

The full release of V Rising is coming up quick. And just in case the upcoming Castlevania crossover wasn’t enough, Stunlock has released a new gameplay trailer showing off the new Ruins of Mortium endgame zone for V Rising.

Once the heart of the powerful Vampire civilization, the Ruins of Mortium now lies in ruins, teeming with the cult-like remnants of Dracula’s forces. Players will encounter the Draculin, creatures tainted by Dracula’s influence, and face off against his Vampire Generals. The ultimate challenge awaits as players journey into the depths of Mortium to confront Dracula himself. While battling through his forces and disrupting dark rituals intent on reviving the ancient Vampire king, players will uncover ancient powers and prepare for the ultimate showdown against the tyrant himself.

Ruins of Mortium is just one piece of the new content for V Rising when it launches in full. Here’s a rundown of what to expect:

V Rising exits Early Access on Steam on May 8th, alongside the Legacy of Castlevania crossover. A PlayStation 5 version will also be released later this year.
