Borderlands 3 DLC ‘Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock’ Arrives March 26

Published

on

Gearbox and 2K Games have unveiled the second major DLC for Borderlands 3. “Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock,” will launch across all platforms on March 26. The DLC is also included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass, as well as with the Super Deluxe Edition.

The DLC’s story has Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs finally getting married, and they want you to come celebrate their upcoming nuptials on the ice planet of Xylourgos. Its frozen wastes have thinned out all but the most vicious wildlife, and the eerie town of Cursehaven — where you’ve all agreed to meet — is located beneath the colossal carcass of a fallen Vault Monster.

But, as these things go, there’s trouble. A band of creepy occultists who worship the Vault Monster’s carcass are hellbent on ruining things. You’ll have to fight back the forces of otherworldly evil. Luckily, the story sees the return of Gaige, a fugitive Vault Hunter who’s inseparable from her robot BFF Deathtrap, who look to even the score.

That’s not all, however. Gearbox Software also shared concept artwork of Borderlands 3‘s third campaign add-on (which will launch this summer), as well as announcing that the game is finally coming to Steam on March 13.

Gearbox also laid out the year’s roadmap for the free events and updates coming to Borderlands 3 in April and May:

  • April 2020 – Mayhem Mode 2.0 and the Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event. Mayhem Mode 2.0 will overhaul Borderlands 3’s end-game by reinventing the ways in which Mayhem modifiers work. Revenge of the Cartels will see you tracking down and taking out cartel operatives to earn event-specific rewards.
  • May 2020 – The second Takedown arrives! Much like Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite—which released last November—the Guardian Takedown will offer some of the most challenging content in the game. This intense standalone mission will be themed after the mysterious Eridians and will feature not only new bosses but new gear and cosmetics as well. The difficulty will scale to the size of the player party by default. However, if you want to experience the Takedown in its true form, you can select “True Takedown Mode,” which tunes the difficulty for a party of four fully leveled-up Vault Hunters regardless of party size.

Borderlands 3 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via the Epic Games Store, and Google Stadia.

Funko and 10:10 Games have announced upcoming video game Funko Fusion this afternoon, and much to our delight, the game is absolutely loaded with Funko POP-style horror icons.

The official trailer for Funko Fusion heavily features John Carpenter’s The Thing, as well as 1999’s The Mummy, Jaws, Jurassic World, and even Jordan Peele’s Nope!

Other horror properties including M3GAN, Shaun of the Dead, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Jurassic Park, and Chucky have also been confirmed for Funko Fusion.

Funko Fusion is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 13, 2024. Pre-orders for physical console editions of the game open starting today at select global retailers, with pre-orders opening across digital storefronts soon.

Funko Fusion is an action-adventure, single player and online co-op experience that pays tribute to NBCUniversal’s deep roster of beloved worlds and the irreverent Funko Pop! interpretations of the figures who inhabit them. In the game, players will celebrate their favorite movies and TV series across a wide range of more than 20 franchises: from blockbuster movies like Jurassic World, JAWS, Back to the Future, The Thing, Shaun of the Dead, and Chucky, to hit TV series such as Battlestar Galactica, The Umbrella Academy, and Masters of the Universe, and many more.

Funko Fusion is the debut title from 10:10 Games, a studio co-founded by five-time BAFTA award winner and TT Games founder Jon Burton with a team of experienced developers known for their work on brick-based games.

Funko Fusion is the experience we believe fans are waiting to play, and finally, on a personal note, I get to have He-Man in a video game!”

Funko Fusion is our first, explosive entry in console video gaming. New and longtime Pop! fans will traverse, explore, and adventure through incredible worlds inspired by some of NBCUniversal’s most iconic brands and characters, in addition to a wealth of surprises from both Skybound and Funko,” said Jason Bischoff, VP of Licensing and Business Development at Funko. “Fans have been champing at the bit for more information since our announcement. We are so grateful for that excitement, and for the opportunity to start sharing the extraordinary work, and partnership of our friends at 10:10 Games. Fall 2024, it’s all about Funko Fusion!”

Fans who pre-order Funko Fusion will receive a themed The Walking Dead Pack at launch for no additional cost, which includes two additional playable characters from Skybound’s award-winning The Walking Dead comic books – Rick Grimes and Michonne Hawthorne. The pack also includes Variant Outfits for both characters – Rick Grimes as Alexandria’s Leader and Michonne in her Traveler outfit.

“We’re honored to be working alongside these juggernauts of entertainment and pop culture to bring Funko Fusion to life,” said Ian Howe, Managing Partner at Skybound Games. “To expand the fun for Skybound fans, bringing The Walking Dead and Invincible into the fold, is really just icing on the cake.
