‘Carrion’ Sells 200,000 Copies; Fun New Making-of Released [Video]

So, Devolver Digital’s Carrion (read our review here) is pretty damn fun. Of course, we’re not the only ones thinking that. The game was released last week to “widespread critical and commercial success,” with nearly 200,000 copies sold and hundreds of thousands of players on Xbox Gamepass jumping in to devour hapless humans.

Not bad for a genre title. And an independent one, at that.

In celebration of the game’s achievement, developer Phobia Game Studio and Devolver have teamed with production house Imagos Films to release “Carrion: Behind the Screams”, a shocking three-minute exposé about the making of the hit horror game. “Creep behind the pixels with a raw, unfiltered interview with Carrion‘s star beast and understand the physical and emotional toll it took to create its art.”

Plus, who doesn’t love practical effects?

Carrion is out now on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Fans of Headup Games and developer Devespresso Games’ horror adventure title The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters have more on the way later this year with developer Dvora Studio’s The Coma 2B: Catacomb. Touted as the backstory for The Coma 2 and a bridge for the entire series, Catacomb will launch for PC via Steam Q3 2024.

Per Gematsu, the story for The Coma 2B: Catacomb take place right after The Coma, where protagonist Youngho has managed to escape the eponymous mirror dimension. Only now, he is being pursued by the entity known as the Vicious Sister. In order to escape, Youngho must once again travel to the mirror dimension and find a powerful relic sword that can be used against the Vicious Sister. However, things become complicated when “an unwanted invader” arrives in the mirror dimension.

As in the previous games in the series, players will have solve puzzles, discover clues, and of course fight for survival against unrelenting monsters, this time in the nightmarish district of Sehwa. You’ll need to be careful, as running while holding your flashlight attracts unwanted attention for Youngho, requiring you balance exploration with survival.

Along with scavenging for resources, you’ll also be able to trade items in Dokaebi Market to even the odds against your pursuers. In addition, you can unlock tools and upgrades to reach previously inaccessible areas.
