Remedy Working on Next Game That Will Share The Same Universe as ‘Alan Wake’ And ‘Control’
Fresh from their announcement of the latest DLC for Control, developer Remedy has revealed in a new blog post that they’re already at work on a future game that ties into the shared universe with Alan Wake and Control.
The studio used the post to talk about the AWE expansion, explaining that for over a decade, Remedy has had this “crazy dream” to have some of its titles later be connected to one another. “Each game is a stand-alone experience, but each game is also a doorway into a larger universe with exciting opportunities for crossover events.”
And yes, Remedy does drop the idea of RCU (Remedy Connected Universe) with talk of a new game. “We’re already hard at work on a future Remedy game that also takes place in this same universe,” Remedy said.
So, you can begin the speculation. Longtime fans of Remedy would obviously jump at the chance for a new Max Payne game, though with the response from Max Payne 3, that might not be in the cards. Quantum Break is another possibility, though that might again be an issue, given that Microsoft probably still has a hand in that. Perhaps even CrossfireX will be involved?
Regardless, AWE is set for an August 27th release, while Control is out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Games Store.
