Dystopian Shooter ‘Atomic Heart’ Will Have Next-Gen Versions; New Gameplay Video Released Featuring Mick Gordon [Video]

Published

Things are still chugging along for Atomic Heart, the upcoming Dystopian shooter from developer Mundfish. And while no release date has been announced for the title, Mundfish has dropped the obvious news that with the impending arrival of the next-gen systems, Atomic Heart is getting PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions. In addition, Mundfish has dropped a surprise gameplay video, featuring music by Mick Gordon (formerly of DOOM fame).

In an interview with IGN, Mundfish explained that thanks to the PS5 and Series X’s reliance on SSDs, “[Atomic Heart] will have no loading screens”. Furthermore, “Next-gen hardware also provides an exclusive opportunity to fulfill our artistic vision and deliver our game with stunning visuals with no downgrading, which was absolutely essential for current gen.”

As for the game’s story, Mundfish are still keeping things close to the chest, saying, “The game kicks off when robots start attacking people. P-3 will have to investigate what has caused all these events and deal with what (or who?) is behind all of this.”

Atomic Heart is also in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
